Week 20

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Feeling a bit low this week. I don't seem to be making the progress I want, but I am making progress so it shouldn't be making me feel depressed. Didn't help that my scales only measured a 0.1 lb drop since last Saturday. Oh well - it will pass - it always does, and then progress picks up again.

I joined the official Tame your Sweet Tooth challenge this week. My first challenge is to blog about my struggles. In fact I find that once I cut back on sweet things I do lose the taste a bit and fruit generally fills the gap. I had molasses and blueberries with my porridge this morning because I don't find that very sweet at all but it does give it flavour. I don't have fruit yoghurts very often because they are so sweet. I prefer natural yoghurt with added fruit. My biggest issue is with adding sweetners to coffee or to my bedtime hot chocolate. I know I shouldn't do it and it is sweet enough without. I think my challenge needs to be to cut out the sweetners as far as possible.

Hang in there, we all have those moments when the doggone scale just barely budges in spite of all our best efforts. Seems to me you went through this before? And if I remember correctly you stuck with it and then dropped weight. But it is hard, I know...
As for a sweet tooth, I can so relate. And now in every store here there are literally aisles (yes I said aisles!) of Easter candy to buy. I have decided to avoid the whole thing, because it could turn into a major binge...
Can you half your sweeteners to make cutting them out easier? Just a thought...
Well, my friend, have a good weekend! emoticon emoticon

At least it was a loss and not a gain. That is how I would look at it! The plain yogurt with fruit added by you is good, you are right some yogurt is very sweet. I wish you much success on your cutting back on sweets. That is a goal you will reach as you have determination!! emoticon emoticon June
