Day 37

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5: 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Application: The reason why the Christian does not fear relapse or weight gain again? It is here in this Scripture. If we are in Christ and remain in Christ the things we have learned throughout our dieting sojourn will be ingrained in us eternally as Christ Jesus Himself is. If we have made the necessary confession and genuine repentance of our old habits and patterns and excuses that once got us into trouble, behold, the old has gone, the new has come!

What an exciting Scripture to know that He makes all things new. I canít slip, slide, or revert to my old habits because they are now gone. The new ones have come, and I am enjoying them so much more because they come from His hand in my life. Perhaps it is for a special season in your life, but the promise belongs to His heirs which we are!

Prayer: Almighty God, by faith I claim this Scripture as my own. I believe that I will never have to look back to my old ways again. I believe that You have molded me into a new creature. I believe the past is gone and forgiven. I thank You for the opportunity to be sculpted in Your image and to please you as a new creation in Christ Jesus this very day. Amen

Today's action and commitment: I am beautiful inside and out. When I practice good virtues, I feel peaceful and happy. When I know the Word and am assured I am born again and I know Christ has made a new me and my body, mind and spirit is new! Do I encourage others to love themselves as they are or do I still unceasingly need to remind myself?

I am glad that I can say that I feel that I love myself inside and out. I always had a low esteem of myself. Now I just tell people, God doesn't make junk. i am beautiful and feel so much better in getting my weight down since I pray that I am doing this to improve my body to honor God. Thank you for the goodie and note, Editor.

Each of us is beautiful in our own way as we are a reflection of HIM and his grace. I celebrate the fact that we have only to tap into the Christ Light within in order to shine.

    Hi Editor

This may be a bit off topic but reading your blog brought up something to my attention. It is ironic, but before I recently was saved I had fewer struggles in the maintenance phase. Now the enemy has been on the attack as I have been reading and becoming more interested on approval from God than having to depend on approval from people. It was this approval from the community, that I was so desperately wishing to earn, which made it easier to resist temptation in the past. Now this young Christian is needing to rely on God and Christ's teachings to resist.

Chris

Yes, I see clearly that in my past weight loss struggles I slipped back into old habits, not even acknowledging them as sin. I too claim this promise by faith, not looking back. Thank you again, as always, for these valuable lessons in Christian living.

I am not perfect, but perfectly forgiven! The old is gone and I can embrace the new! In Christ Jesus, not in my own strength or power, I am a new creation! I Praise the Lord for all that He has done and is doing in my life.

We have to change all our ways that our not pleasing to God He sees the whole not a part of us.

Amen Editor! I too shall claim this Scripture and pray it for myself and all whom I encounter. God does change people, from glory to glory, and I shall not look back. Thank you for this great encouragement today. (I AM a new creation in Christ...I think I will change my profile image to celebrate this! Glory to God!)

As a "new creation," you do not have to allow the old things that happened to you affect your new life in Christ. You are a new creature with a new life in Christ. You can have your mind renewed according to the Word of God. Good things will happen to you. Rejoice! It is a new day!
