Read Luke 17.
Temptations to sin are sure to come. Can any statement be any more true? Perhaps this does not happen in your life but I know in mine, as soon as I recognize a bad habit or behavior and attempt to correct it the temptations are multiplied. I know an individual who quit smoking after doing so for most of his life. About three days into quitting a friend to whom he had given cigarettes over time gave him a gift of a new pack. I am not sure if he (the friend) knew that the other was quitting. But most of life is that way. It is a fact however that there are evil people in the world, those that if they knew what it was that you struggle with would bombard you with it just to see you fall. We see it everyday in advertising, the tasty looking dessert ad, the steaming dinner entree, a shiny sports car and above all skin. All are temptations to do or buy something. Recognize them, resist and do not be the one doing the tempting. The best way to resist is to have a group of accountable friends, meet regularly and discuss the temptations and failures.
