Before pictures: To post, or not to post?

Thursday, March 21, 2013

I just took my "before" pictures, and I'm a little worried about whether or not I should post them.

Yeah, yeah, they're gross, flubby pictures, but I'm also wearing shorts and a sports bra.

Like I've said, I'm very involved in several online political communities, and I don't know if I want to share this journey (and these kinds of pictures) with EVERYone.

By the way, I plan on taking these pictures after every 10 lb's lost (whether I post them here or not). It will be fun to see the transformation!!

What do you think about setting my profile to "private"? I might feel a bit more comfortable posting the pictures if I did that.

Whatever you do decide, do it because it is what you wanted.

I set my page to private and posted it's there if any of my friends are interested. I definitely am not happy with how I look, but I'm excited because I know the rolls are gonna disappear!

I took some and posted away. To me, it is no different than being caught in family photos wearing a swimming suit.

You could also edit the photos and do one of 2 things...

1. Place a silly face over yours
2. cut your head off of the pictures

I think placing a silly face (think Richard Nixon) might actually be kind of fun :)

It is your personal journey however, and you don't have to share anything you are not comfortable sharing.

Best of luck!!

I say do it. It's a hard thing to do, but it's also a very brave thing to do. I've put All my before pictures up, even the awful ones. Well, they are all awful. But yea, it's nice to have them in a blog or on your page to refer back to. Just set your page to private if you are worried about someone you don't want finding them.
