Five Pound Gain and Sister-in-law

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Well I gained 5 pounds this week; could be water, muscle or weight gain or both. It is not like i have been pigging out every day. Depressed this week too cause of my time of life, family, and finances. Today we went to see my mom and while we were there one of the girls brought some tops to show my mom. When i asked if they were from my sisters she said they were from my sisterinlaw Terri and Bob. it is like she is rubbing it in our faces that she can spend more on my mom than we can. My daughter was very upset afterwards. A friend from church gave me a couple numbers to call for help for us. I hope and pray that we can get somewhere and not have to be out on the street in the future. You think my family would care enough to help us out here. Even hard to concentrate on bible study and school work the way I feel.

I think that the time spent with your mom and how you treat her is MORE valuable than material things. They take those memories with them. All material things are left behind.

I don't know if your family is trying to rub things in your face but hoping they aren't. Try not to look at it that way. Try to think that they were out and thought of your mom and picked something up for her. Great that they could give her the shirt, a blessing is a blessing no matter where it comes from.

Praying for you and your daughter.

Weight goes up & down all the time. 5 lbs stinks but it was no more than that and that's a good thing. Another good thing is that weight can be lost. Believe me, I know that is way easier said than done, especially when you have obstacles standing in your way (like your body not cooperating!)

Financial stress is very, very difficult to deal with but I do hope things work out for you & your family. Sometimes, a small window opens just in time. Keep an eye out for that window.

Praying for you. Maybe your daughter can spend time with your Mom doing things with her instead of buying her things. At the end of the day, time spent is more valuable than gold. I am certain your daughter wants only the best for you as you want for her. So glad you have each other to lean on.

Brainstorming for you...just trying to think a little bit outside the box.......Do you have a plan for working... so a way forward? Is moving your Mom in with you an option? Sometimes having everyone together can solve a lot of problems ... Can you downsize your living arrangement... Can you care for others who are like you - so pool resources...

I hope things work out for you. I would miss you so much if you had to leave!

I sincerely doubt anyone is rubbing your nose regarding your financial plight. When you are obsessing about something it's easy to think others are, too. Rarely is that true.

praying on issues is more helpful then trying to overeating to deal with issues. There are so many good ways your problems can be resolved. focus on that.
