The snow was very heavy but DH had a good time with it.

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

We both went out to move the snow even though it was still snowing but we needed to move it so the mail man can get to the mailbox.

I went out with my scoop but the snow was so wet I could not budge it.
I had to shovel it. There was a big drift between the garage and the house and there is just no way to use the blower. We know there have been a lot of rocks disturbed and there are windows in the house and the garage which could be broken by a rock thrown from the blower.

I had to shovel the area and it took a long time I did not want to lift too much snow since it was so heavy. I kept telling myself my ST was paying off since my arms just threw it easily to one side.
Once that area is done the big driveway is usually easier but today the sun shone on it and it had too much water in it. We know enough to never leave the driveway with snow on the tar because ice is even worse to move and the mail man would not be able to get to the house.

We worked together till 11:30 am and I realized I needed to eat. We both went in to the house and the sun was actually drying the surface of the driveway. As I looked out I noticed how much snow had drifted off the roof so I went back out and used the roof rake to get it down and then I shoveled it away.

I had already made myself a salad and DH had made coffee so lunch was easy.

We had an appointment to get taxes done at 3:00 pm and since DH always keeps good records we were done by 4:00 pm. We stopped at the library for some videos and went for the prescription we had to pick up.

Once we were home neither of felt hungry so we watched the first video and ate a late supper. Beef stew and DH had his chocolate bananas. I ate an apple.

I started to Spark quite late so nothing else was done by me, DH did the dishes and now we are off to bed.

We are both hoping the storm for tomorrow has gone out to sea, I sure hope so and I think DH will not be as eager to get out and play in the snow after today.

Tomorrow is our Youngest sons birthday so we are hoping to Skype to Las Vegas.

Pat in Maine.

Pat, I sure don't miss those snow days with the shoveling. Even though I get the urge to help the maintenance man here shovel. We have snow again. :( HUGS, Terry

Shoveling snow burns a lot of calories. Hope your snow is over for the year. Our friends back in the midwest are getting hit with it now.

    Happy Birthday to your son.
Hoping the snow moved on and you and hubby don't have to go moving any again for a while-like maybe next winter! I remember shoveling that heavy white stuff when we lived in Ohio and one winter here in GA. Glad you were able to get out and get your taxes done and your prescription, I know that weighed heavy on your mind the other day.

It sounds like such hard work! emoticon I have never had to deal with so much snow, and luckily I live in an apartment so I don't have to do that anyway. You seem to be enjoying though, and as you say it is good ST! :)

I think Skype is a terrific invention... I talk to a friend in Ireland, my cousin in England and my sister in Australia, it is great to be able to see best thing to being there.
I hope you have seen the last of the snow....personally I can't stand the stuff except to see it on top of our local mountains.. my snowdrops have passed away for another season but I just noticed my lilac bush and the Japanese Cherry Trees on the blvd are beginning to show signs of life.
Stay Well and be happy. emoticon emoticon
