Walk, walk, walk, walk

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

I guess that is my motto right now. I took my iPod to work again last night and found out that it takes me 5 minutes to go the 0.2 miles into the Hospital pharmacy from the employee parking garage. They are doing construction on half of the employee garage and I've often wondered how far/how long it takes to get from the garage up to the pharmacy. I use the steps all the time at work so I know it is 51 steps up to the 2nd floor but was curious about the rest of the walk.

In addition to walking in and out I also walked for 18 minutes to go out to the restroom and then stop into the cafeteria to have the cook make me some dinner. I walked the steps and hallways until my meal was ready and then back to the pharmacy. I felt really good to have my exercise done before I even got home from work! A big plus is that it got me over my 10,000 steps for the day.

It's 9:45 pm and I'm getting ready to head to the airport soon to get my daughter. She has been in southern Florida for the past 5 days and I'm sure she's been enjoying herself immensely but we miss her like crazy.

It's great to meet someone else as obsessed with walking as I am (obsessed is a word that the lazy people use to describe those who are committed, so it's not a bad word). I walk all the time, even when I don't have to. I use the washroom on the fourth floor even though I work on the ground floor and people think I am nuts. I even walk while watching TV (if you've used Leslie Sansone's walk at home dvds then this will make sense to you).

Keep up the good work.
