B is for Blossom - 500 Days

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

The second section of my 500 Days program begins today, and the key word is Blossom.

My assignment is to do 3 things each day to blossom....something to express myself, to let myself flower or open up, to let my life unfold.

---Here are some possible examples:
Wear a colorful item
Try a new foods or a new recipe
Get my bike fixed, and also my husband's bike
Sing around the house or in the car
Research blossom theme in Spark blogs
Dance when not alone
Express more personal preferences
---I would love to hear some more ideas of specific pathways to BLOSSOM!

I will write 2 blogs a week, whether brief, trivial, or just sharing a joke.

Here is a quote from Jesus that I will be meditating on.
"I have come in order that you may have life, and have it abundantly."
from The Gospel of John chapter 10, verse 10

May your cup of JOY be filled & running over as you "blossom"! emoticon

    Ways to blossom:::::.....
Smile at people, most esp when you are having a rough day. emoticon
Laugh daily:::...Best Rx in the whole world emoticon ...most effective. the by, I look forward to your weekly jokes. Ha!
Make it a point to step out of your comfort zone....:just because. It is healthy to push your boundaries and see what else you are made of....never know till you try.
I found myself growing by leaps and bounds when I crossed that comfort zone and stepped into the Great Unknown....I found my Redeemer was there and eager to teach me something fresh and new!

ah you sparked me! Many folks have a Bucket List... I like your line of thinking and would like to make a Blossom List.
Blossoming is to do something different, expand our horizons.
It could be to train for a 5K.
Schedule a fun Day Trip to a location you have never been or always wanted to go to.
Try out a new exercise class.
    Take up knitting, art, etc.
What would you like to do just for you?

I took on the Engine 2 challenge and Meditation challenge to expand my horizons. I cannot wait to hear what YOU unfold for yourself.

I believe that one interpretation of Jesus' words could be: He came that we might have His life flowing in and through us to the full but part of that promise includes the idea that we will not choose another substance (like food) to put in His place.

One way you might consider blooming is to try one new thing each day from any realm of your life:

    1. Drive a new route to and an from work.
    2. Pray a new prayer (there are SCADS on the web to choose from)
    3. Take a online class in a subject that interests you or that you've never studied before FOR FREE at
    4. Try a different way to clean: all sorts of ideas (again on the web)
    5. Pamper yourself in some way you've never tried before
    6. Take a tour in your own town

The possibilities are endless -- just look for one new thing each day and you'll find it.

I LOVE your idea -- it is rich with possibilities! Each of us would probably define "blossoming" in a different way. I love all of your ideas. My list might include starting a conversation with a store clerk or performing a "random act of kindness" -- maybe letting someone with a few items go ahead of me at the grocery. I know you'll think of many things -- just be aware of opportunites as they present themselves!
