Getting behind....but I WILL bounce back....

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

On March 9th, I was getting ready to do a 5 mile walk (a training walk for a half marathon that is next month), when I was crossing the intersection (my crosswalk signal was on), and the driver, who was turning onto the road, didn't see me and hit me. I was knocked to the ground and I have to be in a leg brace and on crutches for at LEAST 3 weeks. Also, my finances have been at the point where I can't afford veggies, or the foods I have been eating as a part of my lifestyle change (which has meant a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches) right now so I haven't been able to stay "on track" with my plan. But....I WILL bounce back!

So sorry to hear about your accident. I agree with the other posts...you have a great mindset. You will be in my prayers. As far as food goes, do you have a food pantry where you can get help? Or food finders?
Do you like beans...like kidney beans? They are inexpensive, especially if you buy them dry and cook them yourself. They are a very good source of protein too. I have been known to just grab a handful of them when I want something to snack on!

Thanks Steve! I know if I don't keep pushing forward, that will be a bad thing for me. I can't ever give up!

I like your do not give up mentality, you let nothing bring you down. So sorry to hear about the accident. Good thing the driver had insurance. I hope you can get back on track as soon as possible. It is awesome how you stay so positive no matter what!

NW: Thank you. Yep, he was insured, fortunately. The downside too is I lost my second job. The food I want to stock up on is more fresh type food that perishes quickly (veggies, yogurt, stuff like that) but I know things can and WILL get better. Looking for another job again.

Sorry to hear you were hurt. Hopefully he had insurance? Maybe you can get a little extra money fro insurance company for food? Goos luck. You've got a great midset on how to proceed.
