first day of SPRING!

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

TIS the first day of spring 2013! I awoke to 4 inches of fresh fallen snow.
As a kindergarten teacher , as the children began tumbling in the door with cheery calls of
"Happy Spring" laughingly because of the snow storm,,,well here in N. IDAHO WE take things in stride
And got out our bowls and put some snow & agave on top for a yummy treat!
My 60th. Birthday has come and I am loving being an ELDER!
I haven't lost enough weight as yet, but recognize that it is a life long process
The best thing I can do to be successful is to start out with a high protein breakfast to set me up eatting consciously the rest of the day.
I make this dynamite super smoothie with huckleberrys, yogurt, chia seeds ,coconut milk & protein powder.
After that I am all set to go.
Unfortunately I took A tumble skiing in February, which has taken this long to get better
So my exercise has fallen ,,,but one thing again about being older,,,I am not going to be hard on my self,,,,just try & try again.
I hope everyone of you out there in SPARK land has a happy, healthy and has High Hopes ! for a LOVELY
Active SPRINGING SPRING!!!!

I can't believe this crazy northwest weather! It's been a weird year even by our standards. Glad to hear you are doing well. My weight has not gone so well lately either but I hope spring will bring back some motivation. I bet all those youngsters and their enthusiasm is a welcome feeling! Happy Spring!

Our first day of spring included a winter storm warning, so I feel your pain! We here in Northern Alberta have also learned to go with the flow.

You are so right -- there is never any point in being hard on yourself. Do what you can to eat right and exercise -- that is loving yourself. I am glad to hear you so jubilant about Spring. It's still a technicality here, but I'm holding out for Spring by the end of the month. And I think I'm being fair:)
Enjoy the week!
Deirdre
