That is what I need - a person who lives in my kitchen cupboards and is responsible for doling out hard-to-limit edibles to me so I don't pig out.

See, I was in the store yesterday, and I knew I'd finished off my sensible, tasty, yet somewhat boring box of Cascadian Farms Multi-Grain Squares that I sometimes eat for a snack. Right next to the Cascadian Farms selections in our local cereal aisle are the Kashi products. Dangerous! I totally adore Kashi Go-Lean Crunch in the Honey Almond Flax variety, but, sadly, I would love to adore it by the bucket full, which is not conducive to weight maintenance. If I had that little fella in the cupboard, I wouldn't have had to talk myself out of the Kashi all together :-( I could open the pantry and he would always be ready with a level 1/2 cup of Kashi, 14 almonds, 3 Rye Krisp crackers, 15 Goldfish pretzels or 1/2 tablespoon of almond butter. Whatever the desired portion is, ready to go. I wouldn't even have to get out my scale or anything!

Lots of times, it's just easier to not even buy the stuff in the first place, and that's what I chose to do this time. Walked right on by. But in my calorie-counting dreams, that dood is in there waiting!

I think I'll call him Scoop...

Love it! I want a cupboard troll too!

Glad you liked my blog on the Spring meditation! It really was a big step for me, and really helped me when I was down. One of the reasons I love the guided meditations, they plant the seed and then allow it to grow in a way that is meaningful to me.

A minute is a good starting place! I think the guided meditation is up to 10 minutes, but my mind does wander sometimes during that time. :) I find that when I do it every day, it is like using a muscle, it is easier to direct my mind back to the meditation when I do it regularly.

Cheers,
Kristin

I need a "Scoop"! Actually mine would have to be more like a "Slap" as he would have to slap the inappropriate snacks out of my hand. ;)

I have a magnet on my fridge that says "Pig out today, tomorrow you pay" but do you think that slows me down? Nope! You are smart not to even bring stuff you'd be tempted to over eat into your house. emoticon

This was really difficult when I was married and worse when I had children at home. Being single has its advantages. I love the idea of a cupboard troll! Scoop is cute name, although I think I'd name mine "No-no the Portion Dolling Troll." Then I would go to the cupboard looking for No-no. (We'd be on a first name basis.) No-no wouldn't need to learn to say anything except his name and mine. He he... I love your blog!
