Today is one of the coldest first day of spring in record, It's snowing around all the Great Lakes. I'm starting to wonder is spring will ever come or if it'll just get skipped over again like it has in some other years.
Spring is my favorite time of year, the snow is melting, the birds are singing and the mosquitoes haven't made their entrance yet. The weather is nice enough to open windows, neither heat nor a/c is needed. Dust that has been settling all winter long can be pushed out the door. Gardens can start to be planted.
But this year, none of that is looking like it will be here soon. It seems like we've had 5 months of snow. Some years we can have half a year of snow.
Colds have been lingering everywhere, I know I'm not feeling grand with an earache in the other ear and something that may have been brought on by the antibiotics that probably didn't work anyhow. The husband is still coughing, but the kids are fortunately not looking sick right now and *crossing fingers* won't be sick next week either so my mother, who had eyeball surgery earlier this week to get rid of eyeball puckering, can watch them one day next week so us parents can go to their conferences.
I had no energy yesterday, but today I have plenty so I'll be going up to the school, even though I really do have plenty of out today with illness and cold, because I really want to finish a book we've been working on since December! I'm still wavering a little, but the sun is shining and the breeze wasn't that bad, so I think I'll make my way up there and if anything I can have the husband pick us up at the end of the day if I don't feel like walking home. It's one of those days I wish we had two cars, that will have to be a goal of ours, to be a two car family again.
Even if you can't get outside today, make sure to make your health a priority. Be sure to eat well and do some indoor exercise, even if it's just cleaning the house.
