Today is the FIRST INTERNATIONAL DAY OF HAPPIENSS!! declared by the united nations.
Included in this is the Sustainable Happiness Week
Week of activities in the US supporting the move to a new economic paradigm focused on Happiness.
What would make each of us totally happy is different. But In the core of this for most of us are basic needs that have to be satisfied before concentrating on the differences. Clean Air and water, nutritious food, a warm dry place in which to sleep and good health.
Maslow's Hierarchy of Basic Needs state If a person cannot satisfy this basic survival need it dominates their interest and concern. A person who is cold, sick or hungry will not be very interested in socializing, learning or working.
I didn't find that The Happy Day said anything about this specifically. I decided to add this. I think somewhere it would say that. I think when I learn more about this "HAPPINESS MOVEMENT" It will be there.
I just found out about today being 'The First International Day of Happiness' yesterday thanks to a friend who invited me to a showing of "Happy" a documentary. I don't often get on facebook but I did yesterday and I am so glad I did! So go out and spread the news!
“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
¯ John Lennon
THIS is why sustainability is so important to me. Without preserving the environment our basic needs won't be met and No One Will Be Happy. I just never said it that way.
I read a quote in spark people that said "Being Unhealthy is a Prison" How true that is.
SO I wish for each of you GOOD HEALTH! and the tools for you to make the environment healthy too!
