Snatching Victory from the Jaws of Defeat -- and a New Challenge!
Wednesday, March 20, 2013
THANK YOU, Sparkfriends, for supporting me in my victory claim! Except for Bookaphile, who sagely and diplomatically suggested that we split the prize. (YEAH, not happening! We're SO NOT MATURE ENOUGH FOR THAT!)
Even TC finally had to admit that it wasn't fair to "change the rules", and with my overwhelming Spark support he had to admit defeat! But with our overly-competitive natures we both got on the scale this morning and I still OFFICIALLY WON!
We really WERE both winners so we are going to start a new challenge!
I am only one pound away from the lowest weight I've ever achieved since starting Spark in May 2009. For one day, in November 2011, I weighed 150.5. (And then promptly started the march back up to 180.) MY challenge is to weigh in the 140's by April 1. TC's challenge is to weigh in the 150's by April 1. Whomever loses the highest percentage by then wins another $200 prize!
For me, getting in the 140's has always been as much a mental block as anything else. But my head is in a good place. I don't feel like I'm white-knuckling it this time, like I'm only one decision away from a gigantic, days-long binge. I feel calm and focused. And SparkCoach is an enormous help as it encourages me to visualize myself in the future, at my goal weight.
I am really excited. I haven't weighed in the 140's for at least 12 years. My first "goal weight" of 136 is only 15.5 pounds away, and will put me at a healthy BMI for the first time in 20 years.
So...one decision at a time, one meal at a time, one day at a time. I will get there!
