Sandra (Millymouse1) is my mate and we met thru Sparkpeople, 10,000 miles away from home and we only live 20 minutes drive from each other in real life...crazy eh! You just never know what Sparkpeople will do next..
We live in Tasmania which is the island state of Australia, down under the continent actually, so you can probably say we are down under, down under.
I will try and type you thru the vlog, if you can't get to see it or can't upload it... here we go. We start off with Sandra driving the car up from my place in Moonah which is a couple of miles from our capital Hobart...we're off to New Norfolk, up the Lyell Highway to the Derwent Valley (I was born up here.. a bit further up in the scrub tho')...it's about 30 minutes drive and quite scenic.
We turn into New Norfolk and you see on the left St Matthews Church where many of my nieces and nephews were married and my darling brother-in-law's funeral was held a few years back...the day they couldn't fit everyone in the church.
And as we turn the corner we get to the pub.. The Star & Garter where they have lovely meals and our cost only $10 each.
From there we went back to just before we entered New Norfolk and walked up a trail just to show you the river and the scenery; quite a lovely view.
Then we went to Tynwald Park which is about half a mile down the road from where the other trail was; a really lovely place with many barbecue areas and swings, slides and fun things for the littlies.
I knew there were ducks to be fed but I left my bread at home still sitting on my chair... I put it on my chair on purpose, so I would remember to take it with me...bwah!! Anyway, after we ate a wonderful meal at the pub, Sandra drove us to the Bakery to buy some bread to feed the ducks and the girl behind the counter gave me a lovely loaf for no charge...she just said that was OK..and it was, as was the whole day, just lovely!
We had a swing each at the park (as normal kids do) and then walked up to where the exercise stuff was and I asked a young lass to take a pic of Sandra and I on the equipment. She was very happy to do that. The young lady had two little kiddies so we gave them some of the bread to feed the ducks. We walked up the track a bit and then Sandra and the kiddies fed the ducks.
Walked up a bit more, I think Sandra said about 8,600 steps on her fit bit, lol, she was jossing I think it was well over 10,000 for the day....ha!
And then we drove home!!
The end .. we did enjoy our day tho' and I hope you enjoyed our vlog.
