A long stretch

I hit the ground running at work, and didn,t stop until 5.30. Unfortunately that is metaphorically running, days like today I am lucky to crack 3000 steps, because I am pretty much tied to my desk. Time was, I would drag myself home, late, tired, and sore from too much computer time. I would eat to try to give myself some energy, and sleep poorly because despite being exhausted, my body would not be tired.
Tonight, DH picked me up after work and we went to the pool. He went to the gym and I did two hours in the hot pool. Hard work, too!
At the end I did a good half hour of stretches, followed by a length of handstands. (I've been recalling how I used to love doing headstands and shoulder stands in yoga, back in the day.)
And I had a breakthrough.
I did 2 x60 seconds of quads stretches each leg with my knees together and MY HEEL TOUCHING MY BUTT. For the first time in, oh, I don't know how long. This is a big deal, because I have trouble with this stretch, and I never thought I would get there. So I am having a little skite to you, SParkbuddies.
Next step - doing it on land!

Anyway, got home feeling rather limber and fresh after my workout, made a big salad, because it's too late to eat anything substantial at 8.30, and here I sit, basking in my fabulous stretchiness.

    The warm water certainly helped with the stretch. It must have felt great.

The Hubster reminds me that runners don't want to be too "stretchy". I think his metaphor is "steel springs". It's a consolation to me because I've never been super flexible.

I love the hot therapy pool. I feel so great after an hour of moving in the warm water.

I know what you mean about those long work days, though. I usually work about 10 hours on Tuesdays, so those are always low step number days for me.

    your physical stretch is a wonderful accomplishment. I have tried that on the land but my knees really bark at me. But it would feel so good if I were able to get that sort of stretch in... and it is interesting how are blogs were so virutally connected. I hope that with today being Hump day that your leash to your desk is not so short and you are able to get in another good workout to keep those mucsle limber and flexible. Yeah for stretchiness!!!!!
