Calling all crafters who want to get rid of their stash

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

On April 1, I will be doing a challenge where you get rid of your stash, hopefully finish up some projects

Details of the challenge are
The details for the April Stash buster challenge

First this is not just for knitters and crocheters. If you can measure it, it counts towards stash busting

The Challenge will kick off at the stroke of midnight April 1, whatever part of the world you are in It will run from April 1 to 30

You will need to do the following ahead of setting up the challenge thread which will be done later. This will be on a separate team. after you have signed up below, I will send you the link for this team closer to the April 1 start up date

1. Choose a pattern/patterns you want to work on. It can be anythings, socks, hats, afghans, scarves, shawls, etc. It can be for you , a friend, charity

2 Get your stash together with the pattern (only thing you can do in advance is check your gauge)

3. Sign up on the thread that will be coming saying what pattern you are planning to make, how much yarn you have in your stash

4 Each week you will update how much of your stash for this project you have used up. Edit your thread with that amount Each week that you edit your stash, you will receive an SP Goodie You do not need to update the progress of the project you are working on. It's not about the project but the stash It was suggested that instead of doing oz/grams,this time we do the measurement by yards since it would be a fairer way of calculating the amount used.

5 There will also be daily exercises to do with this challenge which are ones you can do while sitting in your chair. For each daily update you have done the exercises you will receive a SP goodie You do not have to participate in the daily exercise. It is optional

6 If you should finish your project and want to start another, that is ok just remember to update any new stash you are adding in for that project

7 At the end of the month there will be a final tally sheet set up to enter your total results for the month. If you post a picture on your SP page and link it to your thread you will receive a goodie for that also

If you are interested in joining and not part of any of the teams I lead (see my sp page) please send me SP mail and I will send you a link for the challenge

Any questions, please do off this thread to me in my SP mail or my personal email, usmawife@gmail.com

Sounds like a cool idea, although measuring ounces/grams is easier I guess the difference in thickness would affect the length. Now I was hoping this meant finishing dresses, blouses, and nightgowns that I've started for children and never finished. I've stashes of yarn to use too, so I guess I'm in. I'll check on your page for more info to get linked up.
