28-Day Plateau Challenge

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Well, I've been training for nearly three months for two, back-to-back black tie dances! The first, a military ball for my boyfriend's brigade, is next week! The weekend after, it's off to an inaugural dance for a relative. But, after that final festivity, I'm worried I'll lose motivation. Though I've lost 15 pounds (!) since January 1, the improvements I've been happily seeing in my body and energy levels are starting to level out. I don't want the next step to be a slowdown or stoppage of my self-improvement streak -- or worse, a reversal of my fitness and nutrition gains!

So I've decided to check out the SparkCoach program, and set it to "plateau busting." Though the first video they queued for me explained that a "plateau" isn't a true Plateau until it's gone on for well over a month, I'd like to work the plateau-busting tips into my routines *now*, so that, even after my initial improvement-goal events arrive and pass, I don't lose any momentum.

And that's all I've got for today!

I understand the fear of loosing it. I wake up almost every day with this nagging: "what if today is the day where it all stops working for me: the day where I don't want veggies and I do want TONS of chocolate and I don't WANT to move anymore?"

But you've made great progress. Keep it going but don't push so hard that you burn out. After all if the goal is being healthy, you're nearer and nearer all of the time!
