Tiptoe through the tulips, oops, I mean snow

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Yes folks. It is March 19 and we have snow. It even closed some schools. It doesn't look like much, and there is quite the underlayer of slush. Icky. Gray.

I would prefer tulips, or daffodils, or even crocus. Sigh! I do see little white tips on my pussy willows though. The promise of spring, once the dinosaur of winter is out the door.

We did a quick spring time spruce up, DH and I last night. I made several trips up and down the stairs to put things away, he passed the vacuum cleaner, I dusted, and moved stuff (boxes, yarn, etc.), cleaned the coffee table, bathroom, kitchen table.

I did get off the computer early, only to realize I had to jump back on to finish something up. Boo. Started out good, as I was off before 8, but jumped back on about 9:30 for an hour. Although I did not get to bed for midnight, I was falling asleep with the cat in my chair before heading to the bedroom. I did get a good sleep though I am aiming to start in bed next time. This is a difficult little goal, but I know it matters with my health and weight. My new habit I am trying to form this week is to be off the computer by 8-8:30, and IN bed by midnight.

I am proud of me for a couple things. Last night I saved half of my milk from supper to have as my snack, and I planned a snack - yogurt with rice krispy cereal. I stayed in check with my calories, and told my hunger button to shut up. It whined quite a bit. Falling asleep helped it a lot.

New day.
breakfast - gluten free raisin toast with a little butter, cup of coffee, milk and tried truvia with it.

lunch - gluten free tortilla with 1 slice low sodium american cheese and cup of cantaloupe.

afternoon snack - 100 calorie pack cocoa/chocolate almonds, cup of green tea with a little milk.

Still need to plan supper and Evening snack
It is nearly 3 0'clock and my tummy is saying feed me. I am drinking water. I gave it a banana.

Checking my tracking,
I think I can give myself a small yogurt with some rice krispies to fill the void til supper. And maybe I will tiptoe over to my wii fit first.
Hand me another water bottle.

We have 10 inches right now. Our daffodils are under a protective blanket of snow so they are safe from the wind which has had some very high gusts. Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon Sounds like you are sticking to the plan. I want to reduce our gluten and DH is agreeing so will try to phase it out in the coming weeks and see how he does. I did without for 2 months but he loves his bread so this will be interesting.

Geese are beginning to fly back again here. I think they came a little too early. Not out of the thirties all week supposedly. You really are keeping track. We use a bunch of gluten free, too. emoticon emoticon

Your menu sounds yummy! I looked at those gluten free tortillas today but figured my sister would not help me eat them, so passed.
Last year was in the 80s here. Blowing and cold today.
Love the relationship you're having with the tummy. It will soon learn who's boss.
ps. The Lemony Snicket quote is from The End, but I did not remember without searching it. Have a great evening. emoticon

Well the American crow was spotted in Algonquin Park last week. They say that is the first sign of spring
