Happy to report that I got my American Ninja Warrior application & video submitted by the deadline, 3/15/13. Had tons of fun filming footage & ended up with way more than I had time for. The max time limit for the video was 8 minutes & I squeaked in just under that at 7:58.
Some lessons I learned:
- People are so amazingly supportive. The hardest part was sharing my story & letting the Internet have it. Putting myself out there was super scary yet I felt totally expansive at the same time. The responses I've received have lifted my heart so unbelievably high; I'm so full of gratitude & appreciation.
- I'm NOT into video editing. The bulk of my time was spent learning how to use iMovie on my Mac & the Splice app on my phone to piece things together. There are still some sound issues but it's not the end of the world so I'm good LOL.
- It's time I took the next step in sharing my passion to the world. I want to help people love fitness & their bodies! Not exactly sure what this looks like yet, but I plan on researching personal training certifications, talking to current trainers/coaches/gym owners/etc., & start brainstorming ideas on my personal brand. Who knew it'd be so hard to fill in the blanks:
I'm the ___________ that can help you _____________.
If you're a coach, group X instructor, personal trainer, gym owner or employee, blogger or vlogger, please please please let me know! I'd love to pick your brain for a quick 15 minute phone call, or through email.
