After 2 days of good success with the butternut squash it was time to live dangerously and test a new food. Salmon is highly reactive to most people (reactive = inflammation = weight gain) but I used to eat it all the time and quite miss it.
Since starting the plan I have had strange reactions both physically (don't like it anymore) and mentally (my brain screaming at me: don't eat this!) to foods that aren't friendly to my body. So I was a little apprehensive as I started cooking.
Prepping the salmon was ok, but once I put it in the pan, the smell put me off but I worked through it - this was a test after all... Once it was cooked I was ok with it and the meal was great. I loved having salmon again and all afternoon I felt fine.

My lunch:salmon, mixed sauteed veggies and a side salad

The final test was this morning when I got on the scale... I was down 0.1! Not much but down is down and as I am close to goal, anything down is a pass in my book! Yeah! I can have salmon on a regular basis again :)

    So happy for you. I too love salmon but after living in the Northwest, I am picky about fresh salmon and it's hard to get here and have it taste as good.
But good that you tested well on it as it is so good for you in other ways.

    I have liked salmon when others have prepared it, but when I try, it is barely edible. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Happy you can have it again!

    Try it over a few lemon slices and bake in a foil tent. Yummy! (less odor while cooking too!)

    I'm a lone fish lover in our house too! I actually prefer fish to meat. I'm curious about The Plan - it certainly seems to have had a positive impact on you. I think I'm going to have to google it.... Your menu photos always look delicious!

    I love any fish, especially Salmon. Unfortunately my wife does not share my love of fish. Woe is me.
