tuesday--whew!

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

good morning everyone! hope you had a productive monday--i sure did. a morning phone call got me an 11 am appt. at the eye dr. so i decided to combine trips and do the grocery shopping at the nearby store. that meant i had to forego my morning exercise, throw some clothes on and head out the door. a record breaking grocery trip ensued--got in and out of there just in time to get the 10 min. down the road to the eye dr.
fortunately all is well with my eyes and the very friendly staff (carrie, dawn, stephanie and dr. hoskins) took care of me in record time, knowing that i had another deadline to hit so i could get home and load dorijane up and make my acupuncture appt. for her. i will blog later about what i learned about my eyes in case it will help someone else.
i even managed to choose new frames with the help of stephanie--she actually chose the frames i ended up with--a completely new look for me--rimless. so that will be fun. got out of there-flew home (ate lunch in the car--not a great idea but my meal was okay--a very simple ham sandwich i got from the grocery store) got groceries put away, had exactly 4 minutes to sit and rest and then loaded dorijane and headed out.
her vet visit went well--she has had a good week and dr. payton and i had a good discussion about some extra things i can do to help her. he showed me how to massage her back and we talked about some other things too. started her on adequan, which is an injection that helps the joints repair. then she had her needles placed and the tech did her laser, both on her neck and directly over the acupuncture needles farther down her spine. dorijane was a very good girl and made friends with a new tech who came in just to meet her while we were waiting for dr. payton. there were some 3 day old puppies in the back getting their dewclaws removed, and i could tell dorijane was very concerned about the crying babies she heard. but the crying ended quickly and she settled down. next on her agenda is for us to begin tapering one of her pain drugs to see how she does. hopefully that will go well.
since i totally missed my exercise yesterday (had intended to do it in the evening, but a phone call from my brother kind of robbed me of the last of my energy and resolve) i need to go do my run this morning. its chilly but the sky looks fairly clear. then i have several "catchup" jobs to do today--seeds to start and a painting to get going on, a birdhouse to finish. warm weather will be upon me soon and i need to really work on my inside jobs while i still have the time.
have a great day!
