I was just getting ready to type up a bunch of whining about my job, here. But No. Delete, delete, delete. Why weigh myself down with negativity? I could say I was "getting it out of my system," but I could also say it's planting it IN my system, just by acknowledging it. So, No.

Here are five positive things instead:

1. I am learning to make better meal choices and to have reasonable portions.

2. Today I can be productive (because the usual interruptors are away from the office)

3. I will also have the leeway to take a bit longer lunch and get in a workout

4. I have hired a contractor -- a task that I had dreaded, from making the first phone inquiry (I hate having phone tasks). It's done, he's coming next week to do the work.

5. My husband and kids love me and that's all I really need to know!

(and one more... I weighed in a little bit down today at 144.2! Progress!)

    Great attitude. Thanks for reminding us to keep positive thoughts. Negative thoughts are just that . Negative, and bring us down.

It takes time to train yourself away from negativity. I have a long way to go.

    I am also trying hard to focus on being positive instead of negative. I have been reading in the bible and it is really scary what God thinks of people complaining. In judges he let his people die in the dessert instead of getting to the promise land because of their complaining. I don't know about you but I want all god has in store for me

  It's true, generally, we get the energy we put into the world ~ and ourselves! If we think negatively we tend to focus on the negative things around us. But if we are optimistic we see the hope and joy in the simple things! Not that "bad" things can't happen, but when they do we'll be better prepared to survive them.

    I find writing morning pages good - 750 words nonstop uncensored stream of consciousness forget about spelling and grammar.
By the second or third paragraph, things start to magically turn from an outpouring of negative worries and rants, to just good stuff.
Gets rid of the negativity and no one suffers.
Best to do hand-written

    yes! Positive thoughts are so important. Negativity is just that.... negative! and doesn't help me. Whining never helps me either. Thanks for the reminder

    When I write a blog about my day, I usually rant and put all my anger in words then delete, delete and delete then I start afresh, share all the good things and just sneak in a sentence or two about my negative parts (enough to please my anger self, haha). It's better to put good things to share with everyone as it will welcome more positive energy and let others feel better instead of add more of our bad issues into their lives even if unintentionally.
