Yesterday I went for a walk/jog at the Rec Center before work. There was a young lady walking around the track with a waterbottle in one hand and a cell phone in the under. It appeared she was checking Facebook. She was walking a very slow speed because she was looking at her cell phone the whole time. I know something is better than nothing but for heavens sake, why bother if you aren't interested in burning a few calories?
Leave the cell phone in your locker or put the headphones on and listen to some fastpaced music to inspire you lift up your feet and go. And if you are going to go that slow, you don't need to carry a waterbottle because you aren't going fast enough to work up a thirst. If you are handsfree you are more likely to pick up the pace. Set your eyes about 10 feet in front of you, not on Facebook.
