Push That Tush -- Can't Lie to Myself

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Delay is the deadliest form of denial.
- C. Northcote Parkinson

“Even as your body betrays you, your mind denies it.”
¯ Sara Gruen, Water for Elephants

We live in a world of denial, and we don't know what the truth is anymore.
- Javier Bardem

“you can't get away from yourself by moving from one place to another.”
¯ Ernest Hemingway, The Sun Also Rises

I re-invented my image so many times that I'm in denial that
I was originally an overweight Korean woman.
- David Bowie

Procrastination with exercise is one of my problems....
Denial of eating larger portions is another.

so when the scale stays on the same number
or creeps up a bit....
I know it's not a problem with the scale or too much exercise
{... that ain't me...I have never gained because I built muscles...ever...}
and I know when it's salt related because my kankles return ... full force.
But sometimes I lie to myself about commitment.
It takes a lot of effort to keep going...
and sometimes it takes a lot just to maintain the progress I've made thus far
Not delaying....
and not moving forward is denial of things I want to have.
The body responds to the care you give it.
If I deny it my attention WILL betray me
and it does it in subtle ways that
often I can't see it or feel it, until the damage is done.

i Gotta keep PUSHING.
