Shopping in my closet

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

This morning I went to Zumba. There was a Zumba clothing sale afterwards and I bought some clothes to wear to Zumba. The idea of having something nice to wear instead of my daggy old workout daks is really cheering. I feel slightly naughty, because I do have a lot of clothes that are good for gardening and exercising.

I went home, showered, put on a load of washing, and admired my purchases. I have a rule: 1 item in, 1 item out. So I decided to go through my closet and drawers. And that is what I have been doing all day. Oh, and I organized the hall linen press and my spare clothing chest.

I took out all my clothes and tried them on.
A few pairs of pants are a little snug. And a few special items kept for sentimental reasons are simply too small to get into. But not unachievably small: by summer I will be wearing them. Everything else either fits or is a bit too big.
Out the big stuff went, some to the ragbag, along with the daggy stuff, and some to bless a lucky person who shops at the Salvation Army. Some of my summer stuff went into the chest, because, alas, it Is autumn now.

I do not need to buy another thing.
And I have to wear different stuff all the time now because soon it won't fit me any more. I have worked out some outfits and have them in the closet by outfit, not something I usually do. I have even got respectable clothes to garden in. And why not, since exercise and gardening are my favorite things?

And I am sitting down for the first time today with my sewing kit, because I have to move some buttons to stop my pants from falling down.

That's terrific to clean out your closet and fit in new old clothes. You deserve to have respectable workout and gardening clothes. There is no reason you shouldn't feel good about how you look no matter what you are doing.

Good for you - that is such a rewarding feeling , actually fitting into clothes that you once wore and getting new items - Woo Hoo - you know I too have cleaned out the big stuff and donated to the Woman's and Homeless Shelters here - I do not want to get to the point of getting comfortable in large sizes - as a matter of fact - I am going (in summer) change my goal weight again another 30 pounds - I just want out bask in the glory right now of making a goal period - lol - Hugs to you !!     Congrats on your new Zumba clothes. It's nice to freshen up the wardrobe and have something fun and motivating to wear to exercise in. And especially nice to get motivated to go through clothes and see what works, what doesn't, and purge out the things that you no longer need or want.

Love that feeling, I put on some clothes this morning and decided its the last time I am wearing them before I get them altered as it is way too baggy and now I am not so interested in the baggy stuff any more emoticon
