One Week Completed!

Monday, March 18, 2013

I have completed my first week with SparkPeople. emoticon

I didn't really set any goals for myself, as I wanted to first get acquainted with the site and to get acclimated to daily tracking. {I learned that I am really bad with regular tracking. But, I also learned to importance of regular tracking and hope to become more disciplined with regular practice.}

I have found the SparkPoints to be an essential tool and quite motivational. My original goal was to reach 50 points per day. However, I have found that to be quite easy and have exceeded that number pretty much daily. (Have to make-up for the lack of regular tracking. emoticon )

I have joined a few SparkTeams. Participation seems to be low.

As my time allows me, I hope to start taking part in challenges...another super motivator.

    Tracking has helped me to stick with the program. Because I KNOW that I am going to track my every bite, I have NO problem with portion control, where as before I used to eat willy nilly anything that smelled appealing. I also have my nutritional and fitness trackers set to public, which also helps me to stay motivated to keep them filled up with good stuff. (Not that I believe that people don't have better things to do than to check in on what I'm doing, but just knowing that they CAN keeps me inline.)

I will be away for the weekend and haven't loaded the SP apps on my phone - I will be free to lay around all day... munching.

Have a great weekend!

    I found the trackers took so much time especially for meals. So I basically write blogs about food and my exercise and connect with others! I'm a celiac, hypothyroid and anemic have two back and a neck injury. We have chickens,dogs,parrot,cockatiels and two fish. I like cooking,gardening,crafts,walking,cl
assical stretch exercise show,recumbent bike and weights. So if you like any of those things let's be spark friends!

    You should be proud of yourself. I'm not that far ahead of you. I started about 33 days ago. I have already started to feel better. You just keep going one day at a time. emoticon emoticon emoticon

So glad you are using the trackers and earning your SparkPoints. It's actually good that you set a goal that you could reach fairly easily - now you can build on those habits in other areas. Try drinking 8 glasses of water a day. Find a couple of blogs you'd like to subscribe to for laughs and motivation. Put "Visit my SparkPage" or "I'm new" in the team huddles.
Remember, each step will get you closer to your goals. Celebrate the NSV (nonscale victories) as well as any other accomplishments.
Wishing you all the best!
