If I have one more person tell me I'm not allergic to "____" but rather I have an intolerance or it's the "gluten" or the "lactose" I'm going to throttle them. No, no it's not. And why the F do you think you know more about my medical issues than I do???? Who the heck made you all knowing??? ALLERGIES are reactions to proteins, not gluten, not lactose, not your know-it-all fill in the blank retraction from my reality.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest and there's no one to say it to in RL... so here we are.

I appreciate the support, I really do, but don't tell me I can eat something I can't. OK? If I could eat it do you really think I'd be limiting my diet like this? Trust me, I wouldn't.

Ugh! I hate it when people try to tell me things about my medical condition that they have no idea about! Especially when they don't work in the medical community. Ignore what people say, you know what is right and what you can or cannot eat. Take care of you! emoticon

Lay people really shouldn't offer medical advice. Even most doctors are wary without having the entire picture.

If you've been tested and your doctor has confirmed food allergies, I wouldn't worry about what other people think. I do know in the medical field though there are a lot of variances between true food allergies and an intolerance to certain foods. Unfortunately, not everyone knows what they truly have. That's why testing (and a good doctor) are important!

Ignore people - you have to take care of you!

I hear you!! Too many people feel their opinions are the all mighty correct answer no matter what!! That attitude is always the wrong answer!!
