Tonight was CrossFit workout #8. It's interesting because it takes every ounce of self determination that I have just to show up. No lie. I come up with every excuse in the book.. I have to work late.. I'm not feeling well.. I'm too sore.. I need to do something for my parents.. blah blah blah. So, when I show up I'm very quiet.. focused... "let's just get this over with" is what I'm thinking. But sometime during the workout something flips and I'm thinking "I can do this - PUSH - PUSH" and then I know... I kNOW.. I can do it. I love that feeling!
Tonights workout was 10 squats even lower than I've done before, 10 side to sides with this big pole (I have no idea what they're called) and 10 ball slams with squats to pick the ball up (OUCH) then walk around the building x 3 sets for time. My time was 10:19 which is the longest time I've spent doing the intervals. YEAH ME. Remember that first workout when I could only work for 2 minutes and 30 seconds?? Yeah, I remember. HA.
What was different about this workout is that I spent the 2nd longest amount of time in zone 4 - HR 132 to 148. YEAH ME!
And it just keeps ramping up!
I got home and I was exhausted. I had to sit at the gym for 15 minutes to quit shaking enough to walk to the car... and I feel proud.. proud I didn't make excuses and got to the gym.. proud I gave it my all and didn't wimp out.. proud that I finished strong!

I made it with Grass Fed beef and a ton of veggies... it was fantastic and so filling.. the recipe doesn't tell you how many servings but there are about 8 very large servings for only 350 calories per serving thanks to all those veggies! And 43 grams of protein thanks to that grass fed beef!
