Thankful for my daughter who always inspires me

Monday, March 18, 2013

Dh and dd drove to Moab for her to run the Canyonlands half marathon over the weekend. Of more than 3300 runners she was the 18th overall female, fifth in her I division. She had been struggling with a hip injury so took it easy on the run and talked to others the whole way. She is an elite runner and such an inspiration to me. I'll never run a half marathon, but maybe I can walk one someday. The only time I ever walked that far was about 8 years ago in the summer. I ended up hallucinating, had breathing and swallowing problems and was in the hospital twice for a total of two weeks. Docs said related to too much heat, too little water and an exacerbation of my ms. Maybe I can do a half marathon walk this summer on a cooler day with lots of fluids to last. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!

IT IS SO WONDERFUL AND FUN TO WATCH OUR DAUGHTERS RUN. OUR DAUGHTER RAN IN HIGH SCHOOL IN THE 80'S . SHE RAN TRACK AND CROSS COUNTRY. I LOVED WATCHING HER RUN. BE CAREFUL IF YOU DO THE WALK.

CONGRATS TO YOUR DAUGHTER. I THINK YOU WOULD NEED TO BE VERY CAREFUL AND MAYBE TRY A SMALLER WALK. WE HAVE LOTS IN CANADA THAT ARE 1 MILE OR 5 MILE WALKS. WOULD BE BETTER FOR YOU HEALTH WISE. TAKE CARE.

That was so cool. . .you might easily be able to do it eventually - wouldn't your daughter be proud of you if you did?

Daughters are awesome for inspiring their moms. My daughter inspires me as well. She like your daughter is an elite athlete. She runs marathons and qualified for the Boston marathon and will be running it next month. I wish I could go cheer her on, but will have to leave that to her husband this time. When/if you do you're half marathon, take care of yourself and drink lots of water!

Heat has the same effect on me. I haven't hallucinated but go into anaphylaxis, took 6 ambulance rides one summer. I don't perspire so the heat is dangerous for me. Take care.
