No Mojo

Lately I have fallen by the health and fitness wayside. How does it happen? Gradually I started eating more and more inappropriate foods. Gradually I stopped paying attention to my water. I haven't done serious fitness in quite a few days. I need to get my mojo working for sure! I made a healthy salad for dinner with a load of leafy greens as well as tomatoes and strawberries. Have you ever had strawberries sliced in your salad? It's surprisingly good with any kind of salad dressing. I also had a turkey burger on whole wheat. Babysteps back to the track, I guess!

    You are not alone.....I also have gone through the same in the last few weeks.
The more I try to motivate myself and get back on track the more I sabotage myself.
The good thing is, I have kept the healthy eating habits I have created in the past year or so, I also faithfully keep logging my meals and exercise, where I can see that I have failed in keeping my portions or relax in my fitness and I'm able to see what I'm doing wrong.
I have some days that I can put the world on fire and then I have others that the fire never gets started. But still working on one day at the time.
I love to add fruit to my salads I have also added pears, apples or blueberries.
You can add few walnuts or any other nuts for crunchiness (I normally do half of the 1/4 c portion) or add fat free feta cheese. Delicious!!!!

  I have faith that you'll be getting your MOJO back quickly. I think that you probably have a lot on your mind right now. Mental processing takes a lot of our energy stores. BTW, I have had strwberries in a green salad before - is really good !

    I hope you find something that helps get your Mojo back. We are also working on getting our Mojo back. I think for us it has something to do with the time change. As that is when everything began to go Wonky (my new favorite word). emoticon

    I recommend one week of raw food eating. Its filling and hard to even eat all your 1200 calories because raw food is filling as SO MUCH food for your calories. After a week, you may not even want to switch back.

    I love my salads with fruit. I also slice bananas and put on them. It makes for a treat plus I love my bananas. This time of year is hard to stick to the right eating plan but as long as we get back to it, that is all that matters. Keep going my friend. emoticon

    We all fall a little from time to time. What matters is getting back on track which it seems you are doing. For me, when I start tracking everything I eat, it all falls into place. Yes, baby steps but keep moving forward!

    I know what you mean. It is hard to be focused all of the time. Old learned behaviors and habits are so much easier. I love fruit in my salad. I like to slice grapes and put them in with nuts. Wouldn't it be easier if Spark friends lived in the neighborhood? Times like these we need someone knocking on our door asking if we want to go for a walk.

    I am pushing the exercise but the food thing is kind of stagnant- still pretty healthy but wanting more than I need or that I can lose weight at.

I love fruit in my salads and nuts too- sometimes I just throw a few raisins in for the change and the sweetness. I have seen salads with spinach and strawberries and some chicken. I think that would be good I bought some ground flax seed too- its supposed to be good for all kinds of things so I am just going to sprinkle some on lots of things.

I think the important thing is we keep coming back and trying to help ourselves and others which keeps pushing us in the right direction. emoticon

    I almost always put fruit in my salads, whatever kind I have on hand. I have found that if I have something sweet like fruit and something sour like pickles or relish, then I do not use nearly as much dressing. I think it is because it adds so much flavor that there is no need for dressing.

    i am so right there with you. I forget that focussing on losing the pounds doesn't work. I have to just work my plan. Hopefully it will get better for both of us!!

    I love strawberries in my salad - I also put grapes, apple chunks or blueberries in them. Not all at once of course because then it would be fruit salad, haha. But I like to add fruit to my salad if I have it.

A turkey burger and salad is an excellent start! Now get out your water bottle and all your measuring cups and scale again so you can measure and weigh your food and start eating less!

And get moving! Just walk around the block once (bet once you're out there, you don't stop at once!) emoticon
