Yeah I know! This chubby gal ran 26.2 miles!!!!!!!!!! I seriously still cannot believe I did it!!!!! I was biking this morning and thinking yesterday at this time I was on mile 15!!! It was crazy to think about it!
The race itself was ideal! Partial flat and rolling hills and cool!! I zipped through the first 13 miles with ease! I almost got side line at mile 21 with this insane pain on the insides of my knees! I had t o walk which was very disappointing because I knew my goal time was lost. But then I thought, hey missy you are running a marathon so get at it! I ended up running the last few miles at 11:30 pace. My next race I know what I need to tweak!
The week leading up to the race I got a chest infection! I was layed up pretty much all week! The meds did its magic and I was OK Yesterday!
I walked all of the last training runs...and even around my neighborhood park!

Finished with the help of seeing my hubby 2xs on the course! I needed that!
To be able to run a marathon took me 11 weeks, it took me around 24hrs STRAIGHT to mentally prepare myself that I could actually DO IT!
The shake out run is what really sucks
