WHOA...wait a minute...I ran a Marathon????

Monday, March 18, 2013

Yeah I know! This chubby gal ran 26.2 miles!!!!!!!!!! I seriously still cannot believe I did it!!!!! I was biking this morning and thinking yesterday at this time I was on mile 15!!! It was crazy to think about it!
The race itself was ideal! Partial flat and rolling hills and cool!! I zipped through the first 13 miles with ease! I almost got side line at mile 21 with this insane pain on the insides of my knees! I had t o walk which was very disappointing because I knew my goal time was lost. But then I thought, hey missy you are running a marathon so get at it! I ended up running the last few miles at 11:30 pace. My next race I know what I need to tweak!

The week leading up to the race I got a chest infection! I was layed up pretty much all week! The meds did its magic and I was OK Yesterday!
I walked all of the last training runs...and even around my neighborhood park!
Rocky sweatshirt a must

I packed for our drive and morning race fuel

I wore a maxi dress and thought this summer its gonna look great!

Carb loaded WITHOUT guilt!

Walked on the beach with my Best friend!

Finished with the help of seeing my hubby 2xs on the course! I needed that!

To be able to run a marathon took me 11 weeks, it took me around 24hrs STRAIGHT to mentally prepare myself that I could actually DO IT!
The shake out run is what really sucks

Good girl! You did it! It's a huge deal. Props to you!

And for what it's worth: my uber-athlete husband had walk-forcing pain on mile 21 of his first marathon, too. I think it's a requirement.

Way to go! I would love to eventually do one, but not until I get to my goal weight and get rid my my medical issues BECAUSE of my running.

I love the maxi, where did you get it?? I've been trying to find good ones but not had a lot of luck!

Honey if you are chubby, then call me free willy!

Stop with the negative name calling and instead talk about how bad ass you are!

Except for the part where you called yourself a chubby girl. Seriously? You look rockin'! Take another look at that last photo you posted. You are slim!! That dress looks beautiful on you.

Accept it. You're hot right now. No if's and's or but's about it.

Congrats on your marathon! emoticon
