Nugget of Truth #8

Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

There is a medicine so powerful it can cure every sickness and disease known to man. It has no dangerous side effects. It is safe even in massive doses. And when taken daily according to directions, it can prevent illness altogether and keep you in vibrant health. ~ Gloria Copeland ~ “One Word From God Can Change Your Health”, by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland.

I have found in my studies in God's word that healing through God's word is one way that God gets His healing power to us to help our bodies sustain us and carry us through a long, healthy life. It's that way for whatever need we have. If we will research God's word for those power scriptures that will give us new life in whatever situation we are facing we will find the needed medicine for that particular illness, whether it is sickness of the body, mind, heart, or finances. There is healing in the Word of God!

The Hebrew word for “health” in verse 22 is the word marpe' and it means restoration of health, remedy, cure, medicine, tranquility, deliverance and refreshing. When we take God's word like it was a prescription drug that attacks our illnesses it brings healing, restoration deliverance, a remedy and a cure into our physical being. Why? God's word is more than just good information; it has life in it! Jesus said in John 6:63: AMP It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life.

God's words, His truths, are spirit and life! When you ingest the Word of God by faith you take into your spirit the life and breath of God Himself! Every word of God is God-breathed and full of His power according to 2 Timothy 3:16.

Confession for today based on God's Word: I will take God's word as a prescription to bring life into my mortal body. I will listen to it, receive it into my heart, speak it out of my mouth and act on it so I can give my body the medicine that it needs to be restored to good health.

Prayer for today: Father, I thank You for Your Word. I thank You that when I take it into my heart it brings new life to my physical being. It feeds my spirit man and causes my spirit to take control over my body to bring healing and wholeness to my body. Thank You for Your Spirit who gives life to Your words as I take them into my heart. I will listen and obey Your word in order to experience the life that comes from the medicine of Your word. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
