Thought and Prayer for Monday, March 18, 2013

Monday, March 18, 2013

So many times we try to fix problems by ourselves. We may try to cover up something that is wrong in our lives with something good hoping the problem will go away. We may have financial issues where our debt is greater than our income yet we continue to borrow more hoping that we will eventually get caught up. Covering up our problems with our own solutions is not the answer. God has the answers we need that will cleanse us from sin which includes spending more than we can afford to spend. We have to decide today to turn from what we are doing wrong that is causing us to be financially strapped.

Hosea 14:2 “Bring your confessions, and return to the LORD. Say to him, ‘Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises.’”

Dear Lord, we confess to You today that we are not living as we should. We are trying to cover up one sin with another. Please forgive us and cleanse us today. We confess today that we can’t handle our finances alone as You want us to. Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us. Show us how to better spend and plan our money so we can give You tithes, offerings and praise for all You do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we attempt to cover up one wrong thing with another, we are only fooling ourselves.

God wants us to come to Him with our problems and issues and stop trying to fix things ourselves.

We can live as God wants us to and be financially free when we confess that we can’t do it alone.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (NLT)

I loved this blog, thank you very much.
We always get into trouble when we do something to feel better about something else, or when we try to cover or get out of one sin with another.
The only sure way to feeling better and to getting out of trouble is Jesus.
Bless you today
