A Hard Time Lately

Monday, March 18, 2013

I haven't been following any kind of a routine lately. My mother is on her death bed and all my time has been spent with her. Even though she is still in an active passing stage, I realized she wouldn't want me to stop taking care of myself or working to reach my goals. She wouldn't want me to use her illness as an excuse to not work out or eat healthy. Yet that is exactly what I have been doing.

I read a motivational quote this morning that sparked me...A setback is when you slip up, get busy, or become distracted from your goals. That's exactly what I have had, a setback. I am picking myself back up and facing my challenges with even more determination. "I Can Do This" and I will do this.

I am so sorry about your mother, it's one of the most difficult times in your life (lost my Mom 4 years ago last month). Soak up the time with her and remember the love she had for you. Resolve all issues and be bold enough to tell her you have felt the fullness of her love.

I am sorry to hear about your mom. Please remember to take care of yourself, though.

It is okay to have setbacks once in a while. You have other pressing needs at the moment. Do the best you can right now. Your time spent with your mother right now is much more important. It is something you can't "start over" or "redo" once she is gone. You will have time to recover the healthy lifestyle after she has passed. Just do the best you can in the moment.
