The Kale

Got some Kale going to try it tomorrow, hope its tasty....I'm excited...
Got a big ol bunch of it so any suggestions on what to do with it are welcomed.

I wish I had something more to say but my mind is exhausted.
It feels like a hamster that's been running thru its wheel for to long and has passed out from exhaustion

    I like my Kale as a salad. First you need to very finely slice the Kale and toss it with fresh lemon juice. It is best if you can really massage the lemon juice in and let it set for an hour or so. This breaks down some of the fibers so it is not so prickly. Then I add any kind of veggies that I want usually with some toasted pine nuts and feta or some walnuts and an apple. Then I make a dressing of light mayo and mustard and toss. Yum....

    I like kale in my smoothies in SMALL amounts, as it has a very strong flavor. My favorite way to eat it is to make baked kale chips. SP has several different recipes for it, depending on what kind of seasoning you like. I prefer just a little olive oil and salt. I have friends who like to add chili powder, taco seasoning, or garlic.

    I ate it for the first time last week. My mom made kale chips. She decided it was better to cook them longer at 250 instead of at 350 because then they dry out better and are less likely to burn.

    I like it best with garlic, onions and (of course!) bacon! Everything's better with bacon! Uncured apple-smoked nitrite-free of course!

    I was surprised at how much I like it as chips. If you dry out the leaves really well and mix them in a bowl with olive oil, garlic, paprika, and a little salt it gives them great flavor. Then lay them out on a cookie tray and bake at 350 for 10 minutes.

Two cups of kale with 1 tsp evoo is only 64 calories too!

    I like it either bolied or as chips. You take the leaves off, put them onto a cookie sheet and drizzle with some oil, sprinkle kosher salt on them and bake until crispy. Only a few minutes, they'll crisp up quickly. Or you can put them in any kind of pasta with sauce or whatever you have really. Its pretty versitile for a veggie, but good. I hope you like it, its good for you...charitie
