An After Thought I Was Pretty Adventurous Today

Sunday, March 17, 2013

Earlier today I went ot a local state nature park that i have been wanting ot stop in to as the gates have finally been opened so I did and went for a walk on the the trails there don't know how many miles I walked real small has 3 trails I did get ot walk on all 3 in the 45 minutes.

That is not what I wanted to really speak about mom has been bugging me that she wanted corned beef and cabbage I've never made it before I really thought about taking her out to have her corned beef & cabbage but I decided ot try something new I prepared it in the slow cooker added fresh baby carrots purple potatoes and yes cabbage and i ate it Though I was afraid the cabbage would cause some discomfort to put it nicely Wasn't bad at all So yes I tried new foods today corned beef the cabbage and the purple potatoes I would eat that again emoticon

Good job on your walk, being kind enough to put yourself aside and try something new and bonus....finding out it's not so bad!

I also did an "uncured corned beef" using a fresh beef brisket which I brinded for a week.Roasted veggies in the oven, and the good news about corned beef and cabbage and veggies is that it's a low calorie meal. Good for you being adventurous and trying a new recipe. Now you can do it more often . . . and make your mom happy!

    Yay for you!!

I love corned beef and cabbage - but I especially love the cabbage. I put ham in the crock pot with cabbage, potatoes, and carrots. MMmmmmm.....

I have to buy some cabbage now!

Glad that you enjoyed the nature walk! We still have far too much snow - in fact hubby will be off to the ski slopes after he takes me to work today!

It is wonderful to see you cooking and eating new foods! Cooking them in the slow cooker will make sure things are well done and easy to digest. My dad's family was Irish, so corned beef and cabbage is one of my fondest memories.

Congrats on great walking at nature park. Have you consider getting pedometer? Mine counts Steps and miles, also tell you how many calories I burnd. has time and it logs on computer. It's called fitbit. It's a high tech gadget pedometer but money well spend. I wear them all day. Even when I sleeping. It's track your sleeping pattern quality also.

I like purple potato, it's seems better nutrient then regular I think. Last night, I had cabbege and chicken adobo. It was good. (*^^*)

Well done for trying something new. Corned beef is one of my new favourite foods especially in a hot pot/stew/casserole.
