Caramel, Caramel and More Caramel

Sunday, March 17, 2013

This has been a very rough weekend. We had guests for dinner Sat. and not only did that include apple rhubarb pie, (which I did not eat), my husband decides he wants to show our guests how to make caramel popcorn! Fresh, hot caramel popcorn! - I managed through without eating any. Then I get to church this morning and what would greet me there? Hot fresh out of the oven caramel rolls! Oh my! Well I had a hard boiled egg and a few grapes instead. Then my husband and I head off to a wake for a family member and when I get in the car my husband is snacking on a big bag of caramel corn! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

I find it amazing when I have set my mind to eat better how much there is out there to temp me to give up. I managed to be disciplined this time - but the rest of my life with such a continuous stream of unhealthy options that must be resisted! Can I keep it up?? If this is for me then I certainly do need God's help.

Whew! Just had to vent a little. Very big struggle.

This sounds like a sticky situation. Caramel... first I would be too tempted to lick my fingers! It is so hard when temptation is all around. Bravo for staying focused,
Deborah

Those temptations are all around, and I've found there will be days I can resist and days I can't. I have to admit I love caramel and after reading yoru blog I seem to be craving caramel corn emoticon

Way to go! Applause for the willpower!!!!!!! Lots of food temptation in short timeframe. You can keep it up. Saying a little prayer never hurts. God is never too busy for his children.
