Spark Coach Task: Spend a few minutes writing about the reasons behind your fitness and weight-loss goals.
Q) What is your true motivation? What do you hope to achieve or experience after reaching your goal?
A) I want to be healthy enough to live a long and full life. Several of my family members have health issues that are related to lifestyle choices they have made. My mother has had both knees replaced, is Type II Diabetic, and has some other various issues that might be related to her weight. My father has had quadruple bypass surgery, high cholesterol, and is a recovering alcoholic. Both have been overweight for as long as I can remember. These health issues are not restricted to just my immediate family. I want better than that for myself and for my husband and future children. I don't want to wake up one morning and realize all of the things I have missed because of the choices I made.
A) I want to feel, look, and act physically and mentally healthy. I have struggled at times with many stresses in my work and other environments. When I feel badly about things there and also about myself, I find that I can get sucked into a downward spiral. I want the feel-good benefits of living a healthy lifestyle and the physical appearance of someone who lives that way. I want to be an example to those who look up to me and really know, understand, and practice healthy lifestyle skills like healthy cooking, appropriate portions, ways to exercise, healthy frame of mind, etc.
