Neuropathy relief

Sunday, March 17, 2013

I have had increasing feet pain to the point I am not even able to sleep well at night. I went to a podiatrist that told me it was neuropathy but offered no solution for relief. On earthclinic I read where different individuals posted natural things they tried that provided relief. I decided to try the natural remedy of Alpha-Lipoic Acid 600 mg 2 times a day and niacin 500 mg 2x daily. In 24 hours the burning and pain was starting to subside. I still have a small amount of tingling after only a few days on this combination of natural supplements, but I am amazed at the relief that has come from these supplements. If anyone is in pain from neuropathy it is certainly worth a try.

I appreciate the comments. I look up what has worked for others on earthclinic. I figure getting it first hand is best. I used to go to doctors for everything and then some of the medicines starting causing some liver toxicity, now I try to do it natural first, and as a last resort take medication. I really do believe in the power of food healing our bodies. But thats only if we are willing to make some sacrifices. The movie fat sick and nearly dead is quite an eye opener.

That's great you found relief on your own... way to go!
We have to be our own researchers and advocates when modern medicine fails us.

Thought I would mention to you that ALA can cause a thiamine (B1) deficiency. You might want to look into the benefits of the bioavailable thiamine Benfotamine for this. Is available online.

It is not total relief but my foot doctor said it will continue to get better.

thank you, I will certainly give it a shot, the pain meds they have me on just make me sleepy. I went to a neurologist he diagnosed it and they did some testing. I'm very happy for you that you found some relief.
