THE BLESSIN' O'THE GREEN

Sunday, March 17, 2013

Am sitting a few more minutes to post a HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY to all my spark friends. Didn't have time to send everyone a shamrock, but am sending them to you now emoticon with emoticon emoticon emoticon The corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes, which I don't usually eat are all in the big pot on the stove, along with some baby carrots, which I do eat. Had to make one of those really big decisions in the past few days: To eat the holiday foods, or not. I was so strong until the aromas hit me, and then it was , just a little slice, one potato, and a cabbage leaf or two. Lots of mustard all around. I'm really looking forward to this meal as it's one of the few where we actually sit down and eat at the same table at the same time. Usually those times are reserved for restaurants on Easter and birthdays. home cooked holidays are Thanksgiving, St. Patrick's Day, and Christmas. I'm treasuring the holidays I actually can manage alone anymore, and am hoping my daughter will continue to pick up the slack, as she has a few times in the past. anyway, the kids, DD and GS will be here as soon as they get off from work, and then it's YUMMY time!

I hope you enjoyed your St. Patrick's Day dinner. It sounded delicious. I didn't see anything in your menu that couldn't be eaten in moderation. Except for the corned beef, it's all unlimited on my plan. And you're right, family dinners are the best. emoticon

    Dear PattyCake,

I hope you have/had a great St Patrick's day! The corned beef will have to wait for me this year -- too much sodium (plus it's a trigger for me). In the meantime, I wish you luck on your weight loss journey. "Ten mucho cuidado" means "take good care"! All the best!
sincerely,
Riisa emoticon
