Last Weeks Bench Project

Sunday, March 17, 2013

Rainy day here today and a good day to play with pictures. Two blogs in one day is a record for me. Yesterday wore me out and I'm taking it easy today. Just wanted to share.

This picture was taken last May, not a good view; now sorry I didn't take a before picture. The vine had gotten 12-14" deep and the bench too close to the larger bushes as well as unlevel with time.

I'm really proud of the moving project; more engineering than strength. I
love a challenge and am very careful. I also had to prune back and mulch
the vine area. Still need to do that behind the bench and it will look better
when the vine greens up. Only moved it about 2' then cleaned it up and
repainted. Just sealing the seat without paint.

Just sharing. Pleased. Nothing like spring to trigger projects! Life is good.

What a beautiful area to see upon arriving at your lovely home. And great place to stop and rest before climbing those stairs!!

Looks absolutely great! You did an outstanding job, especially since you managed to move the bench by yourself. Mighty Joy! It really did clean up the front!

It looks so great! I love your landscape. We laid down newspaper and mulch in our front flower beds on Saturday also. It was such a beautiful day! I keep telling myself, "it won't be long, no matter what Bill Meck says." lol

It's beautiful! Good work, Joy! I'm glad you're taking advantage of the weather. It's c-c-c-COLD here in Illinois with gloomy, rain & drizzle today. It's in the mid-30s today and today is the high for the week. Sigh.

    Joy,

Where do you live? What a gorgeous home -- and spring is definitely in the air where you are.
Beautiful result to your project!

It's still winter here -- hovering around 32* and still recording wind chills in the 20's. And more snow is due in the morning.
