Day 9 - Lyn Genet The Plan - results

Here's how I feel about my results today:

But I know exactly why.

I have a friend who came over to the house for help with a business plan and then lunch. And as you know, I have been doing "community cooking" with my neigbbor on this program. Well, the lunch wasn't ready in time AND my friend brought over my favorite chicken salad, my favorite deli rolls and her wonderfully home made chocolate covered pretzels along with a beautiful flower arrangement.

Regardless, how much I searched, those delicious chocolate pretzels were not on the plan. And from the results of things, I don't think they passed to earn permanent placement on my plan. And I am sure that the overload with the deli roll didn't help.

But what is really interesting is that even before the scale told me how my body reacted to what I ate, my body was screaming at me. After my girlfriend, Linda, left; I sat down to read. I literally crashed with a sugar crash and napped for an hour. And, I am not a napper - never have been.

But here's the good news, I initially purchased the flax cereal for the first week (yes, it was very expensive!) but yesterday I did make my own batch. I just had the first bowl. So much more delicious than the purchased kind.

Here's to getting back onto my plan.

    There were a lot of variables in your meal and any or all could have been the cause of your gain. You body knows best - get back with the plan and you will be back on track.
I make the granola recipe from the book and add dried cranberries, dried apricots, raisins and chopped almonds to mine. I love cinnamon, so I go a little heavy on that :)

    It also could have been the dressing in the chicken salad and not the roll or pretzels or the total sodium in the whole lot of them.
Try to remember, it is only data! You're doing great!

Q: what recipe did you use that your granola is better than the one you bought? book or flax granola site? I'm getting tired of my plain homemade and had been considering ordering some.
