Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

It's also my daughter's 40th birthday. She and her sister celebrated it out-of-state by running a 26 mile marathon.

Way to go to your daughter! That is a great way to celebrate her 40th!! Congratulations!

Today would have been my paternal grandmother's 102nd birthday. She passed away a few years ago at the age of 99. I've always felt that today was more about her birthday than St. Patrick's Day. Maybe you can relate to that since today is your daughter's birthday. :-)

I think St. Patrick's Day menu peeps should be shot. Consider this anti-Sparky temptation I just saw at a local establishment: Mini cream cheese balls stuffed with corned beef, onions and cabbage, then breaded and deep fried. Served with 1000-Island dressing. Sheesh!
