Kind of liberating, if you ask me

Sunday, March 17, 2013

This whole having missed a day artificially, and having actually missed a day blogging, it's nice, now I won't bother worrying about whether I have anything to say, or report, and just check in if I feel like it. I feel like it now, obviously, even though it's 1:40 AM eastern time, and I'm back to Chicago tomorrow for work, there I have to wake up at 5:30 central time on Monday. I totally haven't figured the sleep thing out yet, and I'm pretty sure I haven't helped things by trying to catch up on the sleep deficit by sleeping in way too late these past two days. Being back in Michigan for the weekend wasn't particularly odd, but I am ruing not taking care of some things around the house when I had a chance to address them over the past three months.

Finally got back to my gym today, and put in a couple miles of wogging in 28 minutes, splits of 14:44 and 13:16, about half running half walking. I tried running upon getting to teh gym, but my knees and hips were pretty stiff, so I quit after a couple laps, stretched out more, rode the stationary bike for a good chunk of the first half of the Michigan State-Ohio State game, and then went back on the track. Didn't feel comfortable until towards the end of the first mile, and by then, I was just intent on finishing out the two, rather than making any attempt at running the rest of the way. Don't think I would have made if had I tried.

Anyway, the eyelids are declaring that sleep is nigh, so I think I'll heed their advice. A Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all, enjoy whatever corned beef or cabbage or green beer you choose to indulge in!

I don't know how you manage to blog nearly every day and I can never keep up! I'm lucky if I get one in a month now (miraculously I did manage to get a rather long one in last week!)

I am totally sympathetic to your sleep schedule woes. Even though I've had the same work schedule for several years now, I still haven't figured out how to time everything right so that I get optimal amounts of sleep. I'm always trying to "catch up" on weekends too, even though I know it doesn't work!

Kudos on getting all that exercise in, even with your stiff hips and knees. Oh, and Happy St. Patty's Day to you as well! emoticon

Happy St. Pat's Day to you, too. emoticon And thank goodness, I'm not the only one who has cranky hips and knees--it usually takes me the first mile to 'warm-up' and then I'm okay. Keep on keepin' on has become my mantra, lol. Take it easy and have a geat Sunday!
