Back again to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens to get in a second walk before construction begins on the new visitors center. We decided to do this Volksmarch backwards, so we would end rather than begin in the gardens.
Off we went down the Path towards Wilberton Hill Park. Nice fields for games and a fun play area for kids...I had to try it out
This shrub was just starting to leaf out and it had a delicate little bloom. I later learned it is "Indian Plum" I'll have to make note of it in the summer and fall.
The path through park comes out in a neighborhood, but it is two short blocks until you enter Kelsey Creek Park. Even though rain was imminent, picnickers had their barbecues fired up and children were playing. Washingtonians are hardy folk.
Back through neighborhoods the gardens where we admired spring blooms and the Japanese tea house.
The rain was really starting to pour down, so we decided to head for home
A very picturesque walk.
