It's been a hectic (for me) couple of weeks, and I feel worn out. Without going into a day-by-day, blow-by-blow account, I will say this: I had multiple dr appts, a hair appt, 2 days at school, four days at the animal shelter (now that's WORK), and I'm probably forgetting something. I'm used to sleeping in most days until around 7:30 (see what being retired can bring?), but for the past 5 days, I've been up either shortly after 6 or around 6:30.
Last night DH and I went to church and helped get things ready for the men's (quarterly) breakfast this morning. This morning, we were at church before 7:30 and finally got to sit down and eat our own breakfast around 9:30. DH had set up and manned an omelet station, someone else made hash browns from scratch, and still others had made various breakfast casseroles. There was a huge bowl of cut-up fresh fruit, and various danish pastries. Add in pots of coffee and we were set.
Approximately 52 men (and a few boys) were expected, and extras showed up - normal procedure. Many are not members of our church, which was very nice. I assisted my DH by beating the eggs in single-serving sized bowls. He had fried onions, chopped ham and bacon, along with 3 different cheeses to choose from. All told, we did 18 omelets, but it seemed like more.
We came home and I grabbed some shut-eye then off we went to watch our 9 yr old grandson play in their last-of-the-season basketball game. As soon as we walked back into the house, I started dinner, did dishes, then we watched a Netflix movie. Now it's just after 9:30 and I think I'm going to bed very soon.
I wouldn't 'take back' anything I accomplished this week, but I'm real glad we'll just go to school one day and to the shelter to work two days.
