I made it through the hardest week of my streak of NO Donuts/Muffins

Donuts have ALWAYS been one of my very favorite things. More so than chocolate emoticon , which can get stale around my house, or ice cream which would get freezer burn before I would eat them. But donuts emoticon and cookies emoticon and pies emoticon and such emoticon emoticon - I eat until they are gone. I don't buy them or have them in the house.

Not giving into having a donut or muffin emoticon is very hard for me the five days a week that I work.
This is because these items sit out and beckon to me for over 8 hours each day that I am there. OR at least until they are gone.
I work at a dining hall and so for 8 and a half hours a day they are displayed. I can eat what every I want AND How much I want-- on my two breaks and lunch. (plus sometimes we can sneak other opportunities to eat during the day).

During a regular work week there are many other options to choose from. Fresh cut fruit emoticon , Cereal, hot food emoticon , toast, waffles, various hot breakfast food items and eggs emoticon .
However- during break weeks when we are closed and doing major cleaning most of those items are not offered. Sometimes- we have left over fruit and then bread we can have.

However-during cleaning weeks most of that is not around. But every day we get in for our eating pleasure 5-6 kinds of donuts and muffin. Usually enough for every one to have a least two. This also sits out all day for us to munch on. The other thing that is available all day is types of chips in bags.

Yes- so very healthy for you--- NOT.
Lunch is provided that includes a salad bar but that is only out for an hour.

All around me people are eating donuts first thing in the morning. During our first break
throughout the day they just walk around and munch. I have looked in the cart. it is hard NOT to look- it is right in the middle of the server where we walk by multiple times a day. One day- I almost gave in. I held in my hand a pistachio nut muffin. It had lost of nuts!
And then I put it back. Yea Me!!

Every day this week I have taken in with me my green goodness smoothie drink to have. I sip on it all the way through the first break. Because it is break week there has not been any cookies or desserts to tempt me after the first day. I am not a big chip eater. I gave up potatoes one year for lent when I was in high school and ever since then I can have just a handful and walk away.
I would like for the same thing to happen this time but it will not. That is because I am a white cab-aholic. as I stated in my last blog. This will always be a battle for me. I did this streak about 7 months ago for 4 weeks thought that was enough and started having donuts again. I didn't have one every work day but if I had one I usually had several.

I am really going to try and keep this streak going. Feeling fit and having people notice that I am looking better sure feels better than how any of those taste.
Well- most of the time anyway. The taste of a fresh warm donut is hard to beat but- so far I am doing it!

Someday I might be able to have them again- when they are not staring at me all day long. It will be easier to only have one. Maybe.

Until then I will just have to get HIGH on the feeling of feeling good.

    Oh I am very motivated by you! I love donuts too, and if I had to stare them down,, yikes!! You rock!! Awesome!!

    Wow, great job! It's so much harder to avoid trigger foods when they're staring you in the face all day....
