Husband had a visit from 2 of his sisters.

Saturday, March 16, 2013

2 of Bill's sisters came to visit him today. They did more visiting with my daughter and I than my husband, but that was because he was sleeping. They didn't know he was a bad as he is. They told me that they would understand if I needed or decided to put him in a nursing home. I have had the best 24 years of my life married to him than I have ever had being married to my first husband and being a child. I FEEL like I owe my life to him and as long as I am able, willing, strong enough, and capable, I will take care of him right here in our house. I've already had some stressful days and I've been told it's only going to get worse. If I put him in a nursing home,he will die there. I told that to his sisters and one of them said he will die here. They have one brother in a nursing home already and several of their brothers and sisters and their mother and father died in a nursing home. I guess it doesn't matter to them one way or the other. Maybe they had no one to take care of them. I don't know, but as long as I am able, I will care for my husband here.

Wow they didn't offer to help is my first response. I know what you mean about not wanting to put him in the nursing home. Mom has increasing gotten worse in the last week. I know that it is hard on my Aunt and Uncle who live with her so I try to help as much as possible.

You might want to check into some help to just give you a few hours off a week. Just to take care of yourself! emoticon

Your husband is one blessed man, but will continue to be blessed by your love even if you ever have to change your mind.
I'm glad his sisters came and realized how bad he was. It seems to help sometimes to just have that recognition that you are doing so much.

emoticon I think I would feel the same way as you...if my husband needed me to take care of him I would do that for as long as I could without putting him into a nursing home
