The World is Still Turning... and Hiking with My Kids

Saturday, March 16, 2013

Thank you, SparkFriends, everybody who commented, sent goodies, and e-mails. Your support means the world to me.

It's been a tough week. On Monday morning I actually received an e-mail with some hiking photos. Seriously, dude?!?

Little by little I seem to be regaining some of my rational thinking, and I'm currently on my way from sad to mad. That's a good shift. Today I'm contemplating whether I should throw darts at his picture ,,|,,

The below quote speaks to me quite strongly.

ďYou must make a decision that you are going to move on. It won't happen automatically. You will have to rise up and say, ĎI donít care how hard this is, I donít care how disappointed I am, Iím not going to let this get the best of me. Iím moving on with my life.Ē
― Joel Osteen, Your Best Life Now: 7 Steps to Living at Your Full Potential

It is, indeed, up to me. I can hang on or I can let go, but unless I let go I won't be able to move on. And move on I will.

Alright - end of chapter.

This morning I hiked with my kids and my dog. I had invited both of them and surprisingly they both came. I chose a small hike, just 3 miles, didn't want to scare them off :) The hike ended at a pretty little stream. What a marvelous time we had! It's moments like that, that feed my soul.

Here's a photo of my guys.

Tomorrow's hike will be a monster of 21 miles. I'll be able to work out a bit more of my anger on that one. :)

Kids remind us of what's really important, don't they? I'm glad you got out with them.

Love the quote. So true. Regret is such a wasted emotion -- I think it blinds us to what we HAVE.

AND, 21 miles!!! That is craziness!!!! You are my hero, girl!!!!

Anger means your healing. When your mad you work through a lot of things. I know from experience myself. Now the hike with the kids...awesome. I'm so glad they came and you all had a great time. Now rest this afternoon for tomorrows hike sounds a bit tough.
